Reckless Faith Bio's
Perry Schober
is
an established veteran musician,
songwriter and producer from
Chicago. His Flying V guitar is his weapon of choice but also dabbles on the
keyboards and background vocals.
At
age ten Perry
pursued his lifelong
passion of becoming a guitarist. He honored the great guitar gods of Jimi Hendrix, Tony
Iommi, Carlos Santana and Alvin
Lee. Determined to make the big time, at age 18 Perry formed his first
accomplished band, Hyflyer.
The mid 70's Hyflyer
played a major role in the Chicago music scene. Night after night of
constant gigging and living the rock n' roll lifestyle took a toll on the band. By the early 1980's Hyflyer disbanded and soon afterwards Euphoria was searching for a lead
guitar player and Perry joined. Euphoria recorded an album "The Answer" in
1982 and had a great following playing all the major venues in Chicago. 1984
Perry left Euphoria to join the heavy metal band Mad Hatter that featured
fellow guitarist Marc Martin.
Some of Perry's previous bands were Assassin, Prime Evil and most recent Suicide Shift which put out a self
titled album in 2006 with current members and co-producer Marc Martin and
Rick Zangora. Ted McKenna former drummer with The Michael Schenker Group and
Rory Gallagher recorded his drum tracks to 4 of the 10 songs on The Suicide
Shift album in
Glasgow, Scotland.
J.J. Jaquith
started his life long love to perform
music as a child singing solos at a small church that preached Hell, fire
and brimstone. The feel of the Southern Gospel songs led to an interest in
Blues and Jazz. By the time he was a teenager J.J. was playing trumpet with
various combos on stage and in the studio.
As time went on, the Combos evolved
into Rock with a focus on bands such as Chicago, Ides of March, Blood Sweat
& Tears, and Mitch Ryder. It was in this time frame he established a
friendship with Instructor, producer, singer/songwriter Larry Rossi, a man
that shaped J.J.’s relationship with music dramatically.
The Chicago land area saw a shift
in the music scene in the late 80’s. So instead of moving to Boston, the
city his family called home some 365 years before, he pledged his patriotism
to the Windy City. In 1988 he turned down a scholarship to Berkeley College
of Music and left the combo’s and horn behind.
It was
at this time he started and joined local bands most notably Jaded. Jaded
had moderate success in the local club and university circuit, but it was at
this time he established a friendship with Sean Patrick McGraw. The duo’s
destiny to break through was only eclipsed by their self proclaimed
anti-success attitude. In 1994 Jaded split and McGraw went into Contemporary
Christian Rock, and J.J. started several groups looking for that “just
right” sound. Some of these were Tangerine Station, Joey Flash and the
Playboys, and No Exit.
Marc Martin;
After hearing Deep Purple's Made in
Japan as a teenager, Marc knew he wanted to play guitar. Marc played in a
series of bands throughout high school college and even law school. Marc
and Perry played
together in MadHatter in the early 1980s. Unfortunately, in the late 1980s
and through the 1990s, Marc took a hiatus from playing to pursue his legal
career. After the birth of his daughter in 2000, Marc decided he wanted to
pick up the axe again. He has been playing
and recording seriously over the past five years.
Marc was always the guy in the band
with the casette four track. With the advance of digital recording came the
ability to put together professional recording setups for a fraction of the
cost in the 1970s and 1980s. Perry and Marc reunited at a get together and
Marc persuaded him to get into Pro Tools. Perry did and the result has
been recording projects for Suicide Shift, HyFlyer and now Reckless Faith.
When not working on such projects Marc can be found toiling at Lost Time
Studios working on some solo works,

Reckless Faith is a favorite of Marc's because of the talent of the other
band members and the diversity of the songs.
